The new website that supports young people, parents and families who are involved or interested in sport.

For years I’ve felt that parents who are interested in sport, from grass roots to young elite, haven’t had a place where they can go to ask questions or pass on experience to other parents. A forum of amazing information gleamed first hand…

I wanted to create Parents4sport so there was that place. Somewhere that I could direct parents to so that they might get their questions answered, read or write blogs, see features and inspirational stories; some from successful parents of our best superstars, to find out how they helped to support their kids on their journeys…right across the spectrum of sports.

As a teenage Olympian coached by my dad, representing my country for more than 20 years, as a BBC presenter still pool side, and most importantly as a parent of three sporty children (one a junior international athlete) I felt I was in a unique position to be able to help.

As parents we want to do the best we can for our children, and sport is an important part of that job. I also wanted to call on my friends, many experts in their fields to offer us help on subjects that keep coming up. I also wanted feedback from YOU, other parents.

I’m asking what is it that you need help with, so please give us some feedback so that I can try to provide it for you…or direct you to someone that can.

It’s about time parents had a voice and a place where we can help each other…that’s Parents4sport.
